My first class
Please arrive at your first class 10 minutes early so that you can fill in the New Customer Questionnaire and go over the CALLANETICS™ concepts with you so that you get more out of the class.

What should I wear?
Wear something that is comfortable, nothing that will restrict your movement.  The exercises are performed in socks or bare feet, so there is no special footwear required.

Do I need to bring my own mat?
Mats are provided at all class locations.  There is no need to bring your own mat although you are more than welcome to if you prefer.

Payment

  • Payment for CALLANETICS™ classes at the community centres is made direct through the relevant community centre.

  • Payment at the W. Broadway location is by cash or cheque.  There is no credit/debit facility.


Can I make up for a class that I missed?

If you miss a class that you are registered for at a community centre, you are able to make up for up to two missed class at another location (space permitting, please ask), as long as you do so before the next session begins at the original centre that you were registered at. You can make up classes at any location apart from The Arbutus Club.

How often should I do CALLANETICS™ classes?
The results from doing CALLANETICS™ exercises are so impressive that you will feel and see results from just doing one CALLANETICS™ class a week.  You will of course see more results faster if you attend a CALLANETICS™ class twice or three times a week, but you do not waste your time doing it once a week.

Can I do CALLANETICS™ exercises when I'm pregnant?
That question can only be answered by you and your medical practitioner.  It depends on your health at the time of your pregnancy which only you and your doctor know.  Many Certified CALLANETICS™ Teachers, as well as students, have done CALLANETICS™ exercises throughout their pregnancy's with the approval of their medical practitioner.  Your Certified CALLANETICS™ Teacher will tailor any exercise as your pregnancy progresses to allow a comfortable and safe work out.

CALLANETICS™ classes or exercises are not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment.  There are certain risks and perils that are inherent in any exercise program or activity.  CALLANETICS™ exercise classes may be physically strenuous, and you should consult a physician prior to beginning any activity program, including the CALLANETICS™ program.  It is your responsibility to notify your Certified CALLANETICS™ Teacher of any medical conditions, health concerns or injuries which may affect your participation in a CALLANETICS™ class before the class starts. CALLANETICS™ exercises should not be performed to the extent of strain or pain.  If at any time during the class you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the position.  You may rest at any time during the class.  It is important that you listen to your body and respect its limits on any given day.
