When Linda discovered CALLANETICS™ classes at The Edinburgh CALLANETICS™ Studio she was instantly hooked. After just her first 10 classes she lost 11½ inches (from upper arms, waist, stomach, hips, thighs, right through to her knees!) It was the only exercise regime that she ever enjoyed and kept up with, and the results were great motivation. Linda continued going to classes for four years to maintain the tightening and toning of her body before moving to Vancouver in early 2006.
At the time, there were no CALLANETICS™ classes in Vancouver, nor anything like it. Missing the classes so much and the affect on her body shape, she went about becoming a CALLANETICS™ teacher herself.
Certified in September 2007, Linda was the first Certified CALLANETICS™ Teacher in British Columbia and is still one of only a handful in Canada. Linda teaches CALLANETICS™ classes in 5 community centres, The Arbutus Club (an exclusive private members club), as well as a privately hired space several times a week. In early 2016, Linda was invited to LA to be a part of filming new CALLANETICS™ videos - the first release of official videos in 22 years.
Linda is currently in year 2 of certifying as a Restorative Exercise Specialist™ through Nutritious Movement™ and can also be found teaching Pilates at Boditree Pilates and Healing.
After nearly one year of weekly Callanetics classes, I have reduced how often I've had to see my physiotherapist. She has told me that I have greatly improved my condition and she thinks it was largely due to increased physical activity that includes Callanetics. ~ Stacy

CALLANETICS™ exercises were developed by Callan Pinckney. Callan Pinckney was raised in Savannah, Georgia. She trained in classical ballet for twelve years and studied other forms of dance, movement and exercise. She had to restore her own body to health when, after an eleven-year backpacking odyssey around the world, the rigours of travel, along with a congenital back defect, led to physical breakdown. On her return to the US, she began to experiment with different exercise techniques combined with her ballet training to develop the CALLANETICS™ program which finally solved her physical problems. She discovered that by performing some very small precise movements not only was she alleviated from her pain, but her body looked and felt better than it ever had!
The CALLANETICS™ technique is now internationally known and has been popular world wide for 30 years!! Callan Pinckney's 9 books all became international best-sellers and the video series that followed went on to sell over 6 million copies. Her first video release "Callanetics: 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours" outsold every other fitness video in the US. Within 3 years it had pushed Jane Fonda into second place on the all-time individual best-selling fitness video chart and it remains the all-time fitness bestseller in both the US and UK.
In June 2016, Callan Pinckney was inducted into the US National Fitness Hall of Fame.
